PRE-CONFERENCE

Dates: 12 October 2020 to 13 October 2020

The IACR pre-conference is an annual event, which comprises four sessions held over two days. Day 1 takes participants through critical realism in its basics, and day 2 focuses on dialectical critical realism and metaReality. The pre-conference is designed as an introduction or as a refresher to critical realist ways of understanding the world. It is an opportunity for postgraduate students, PhD-candidates and those new to critical realism to accustom themselves to the basic ways in which the philosophy works. The workshop is run on an informal basis in which participants are encouraged to relate their own projects and interests to the philosophy. The course will be led by Prof. Douglas Porpora, Dr Leigh Price, and Prof. Alan Norrie.
